(San Francisco, CA) – Today, Theo Ellington, candidate for San Francisco District 10 Supervisor, announced three major new endorsements for his campaign–from the North Coast States Carpenters Union, UA Local 38 Plumbers, Steamfitters & HVAC/R, and Sierra Club (#2).
“As District 10 continues to grow, it’s essential that local residents benefit from the opportunities that growth creates,” said Ron Rowlett, Director of Public Relations and Government Affairs for the North Coast States Carpenters Union. “Theo Ellington understands the value of union labor, workforce development, and creating pathways into skilled trades. The North Coast States Carpenters Union is proud to support Theo Ellington for District 10 Supervisor and his proven track record of bringing people together, delivering results, and standing up for working families.”
Leading local labor unions are uniting behind Ellington’s campaign. The Carpenters and the Plumbers join the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Janitors Local 87, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 648, and International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 16 in endorsing Ellington for Supervisor.
“I am honored to have earned these endorsements from the Carpenters and the Plumbers,” said Theo Ellington. “As Supervisor, I will fight tirelessly to bring jobs and opportunity home to Southeast San Francisco, and I look forward to working closely with our labor unions to do just that. District 10’s working families deserve the same focus, urgency, and investment as the rest of our city. The support from the Sierra Club is also a huge honor. I’ve stood up for environmental justice my entire life, and as the next Supervisor for District 10, I will never stop fighting until we have clean air and healthy neighborhoods on the southeast side.”
Ellington’s diverse and growing endorsements list also includes Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Congressmembers Kevin Mullin and Lateefah Simon, Senator Scott Wiener, Assemblymember Catherine Stefani, former Mayors Willie Brown and London Breed, Supervisors Matt Dorsey, Bilal Mahmood, Danny Sauter, and Stephen Sherrill, and community leaders from every neighborhood in San Francisco’s District 10.
District 10 includes the neighborhoods of Bayview-Hunters Point, Candlestick Point, Central Waterfront, Dogpatch, India Basin, Little Hollywood, McLaren Park, Potrero Hill, Silver Terrace, Sunnydale, Bayshore Heights, and Visitacion Valley. Incumbent Supervisor Shamann Walton terms out in November 2026.
