RELEASE: Democratic Party Endorses Theo Ellington for D10 Supervisor

SF Dems Join Diverse Coalition of Labor, Elected Officials, and Community Leaders in Backing Campaign
(San Francisco, CA) – Today, Theo Ellington, candidate for San Francisco District 10 Supervisor, announced that the San Francisco Democratic Party has endorsed his campaign.
“As a proud, lifelong Democrat, it’s a true honor to earn the endorsement of our party as I run to represent the neighborhoods that made me who I am at City Hall,” said Theo Ellington. “Throughout my life, I’ve fought for and delivered on the values and the promise that define the Democratic Party. From founding the Black Young Democrats of San Francisco, to bringing the community together to prevent discriminatory stop-and-frisk policing from coming to San Francisco, to leading the creation of 1,000 affordable homes as a City Commissioner, doubling Salvation Army SF’s homeless services, bringing 3,000 union jobs to San Francisco with the Warriors, and winning a multi-million dollar settlement for local families who’d been lied to by corporate polluters about toxic land at the Hunters Point Shipyard–my life’s work has been dedicated to equity, justice, and this community.”
“I’m ready to build the neighborhoods we deserve as the next District 10 Supervisor,” Ellington continued. “Ready to ensure the Southeast side finally gets the same focus, urgency, and investment as the rest of San Francisco. The Democratic Party endorsement is a validation of the fact this campaign has what it takes to get this done.”
The San Francisco Democratic Party joins a broad and diverse coalition endorsing Ellington’s campaign, including the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Janitors Local 87, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 648, North Coast States Carpenters Union, UA Local 38 Plumbers, Steamfitters & HVAC/R, International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 16, Sierra Club (#2), Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Congressmembers Kevin Mullin and Lateefah Simon, Senator Scott Wiener, Assemblymember Catherine Stefani, former Mayors Willie Brown and London Breed, Supervisors Matt Dorsey, Bilal Mahmood, Danny Sauter, and Stephen Sherrill, and community leaders from every neighborhood in San Francisco’s District 10.
District 10 includes the neighborhoods of Bayview-Hunters Point, Candlestick Point, Central Waterfront, Dogpatch, India Basin, Little Hollywood, McLaren Park, Potrero Hill, Silver Terrace, Sunnydale, Bayshore Heights, and Visitacion Valley. Incumbent Supervisor Shamann Walton terms out in November 2026.
