California’s Historic First Woman Lt. Governor and former US Ambassador Under Obama Joins Ellington’s Broad and Growing Coalition

(San Francisco, CA) – Today, California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis endorsed Theo Ellington for District 10 Supervisor

“As someone who has spent my career fighting for equity and economic opportunity across the state of California, I know that strong local leaders matter,” said Lt. Governor Kounalakis. “Theo Ellington embodies the bold, community- centered leadership the neighborhoods in his and my hometown of San Francisco need. He has a proven track record of building more housing, tackling homelessness, and creating good jobs. With Theo Ellington at City Hall, the future of District 10 is bright. I’m excited to endorse him for Supervisor.”

“Lieutenant Governor Kounalakis is a trailblazer,” said Theo Ellington. “From the history she has made and the commitment she has shown to building a more equitable California for all of us as our Lieutenant Governor, to her work defending democracy abroad as a United States Ambassador, to her leadership in building housing for thousands of California working families in the private sector–Eleni is a leader our state can be proud of. Like me, she’s also a San Francisco native, and I’m so thrilled to earn her support.”

Lt. Governor Kounalakis joins a broad and growing coalition endorsing Ellington’s campaign, including State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Congressman Kevin Mullin, Senator Scott Wiener, Assemblymember Catherine Stefani, former Mayor London Breed, Supervisors Stephen Sherrill, Matt Dorsey, and Danny Sauter, and community leaders from every neighborhood in San Francisco’s District 10.
